1st Annual NNMRAC Holiday Fundraiser - A Big Success
1st Annual NNMRAC Holiday Fundraiser Benefit Art Fair held during the Española Electric Light Parade with the Downtown Action Team and Chamber of Commerce Christmas Tree Auction in support of the NNMRAC Children’s Arts Education Programs Sat Dec 12, 2016 in the Mision on the Plaza de Española.

Española High Choir sings with NNMRA Children's Choir
For the first time the Española Valley High School Choir and the NNMRAC Española Valley Children’s Choir sang the National Anthem and God Bless America at Veterans Day November 11, 2015 on the Plaza de Española. Brian Wingard Director, conducted the performance.
Brian Wingard offers Music Chorus Classes on Mondays and Thursday from
4:00 - 6:00 pm. The classes are free and continue from January 25 through March 17 , 2016. Classes are held in the Espanola Community Arts Education Center, 702 Bond Street.
A $1 donation per child/class is requested to cover the cost of snacks.

Rosa Martinez and JoAnn Marquez (Center)
Rosa Martinez (left) was NNMRAC’s first intern from Northern New Mexico College where she is majoring in Information Engineering Technology. Rosa was with NNMRAC from March 2015 through January 2016 at which time she resumed her studies. She was recognized by the Board for her outstanding contribution to NNMRAC.
JoAnn Marquez (right) is NNMRAC’s new Bookkeeper, Gallery and Gift Shop Coordinator. JoAnn is the wife of Richard Marquez who works as Outreach Coordinator for the City of Española Municipal Court.

Julia worked for the City of Española in the Bond House Museum and the Convento Gift Shop starting ‘08
She has been Sales Consultant to NNMRAC since ‘10

NNMRAC Board of Trustees is reaching out to the community in search of individuals who would like to serve on the board. Elections are held in May and the results are announced at the annual board meeting in June. Please forward names of individuals you think would serve well on the board. You may also nominate yourself.

This year all current board members are up for election and we need one more individual to fill out the required nine members as per the bylaws. All current board members are completing a two year term in office.

5th Annual Santo Niño Festival of the Arts 2016
The NNMRAC Board of Trustees announces the 5th Annual Santo Niño Festival of the arts with a modified venue. This event is intended to be a fundraiser in support of the Española Valley Children’s Choir, the After School Art Program, Summer Arts Academy and Student Internships. The schedule includes a combined Choir Performance in the Mision on Saturday April 23 from 1pm to 3pm in honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month.
Following the performance there will be an art opening in the Convento Gallery of tinwork by Ed Milsap and an opening in the Bond House Museum of bultos carvings by Rodolfo Parga. Tickets for the youth and children’s performance are $5 for adults and $2 for youth and children between age six and seventeen.

NNMRAC Received Grants from the Following Foundations and Agencies 2010-2015

- Private contributions to NNMRAC.
Total amount of grants and contributions provided to NNMRAC over five years is $210,000 or $42,000 on average per year. These funds were used to match the contract from the City of Española with additional funds raised from memberships and sales in the Convento Gallery. The funds were used for staff compensation, education programs, student interns, gallery and museum exhibits as well as overhead administrative costs. The NNMRAC Executive Director as de facto Development Officer applied to over 100 foundations, government agencies and corporations or approximately 20 grant applications per year and was awarded 17 grants or 16%. This is double the national average of 8% for nonprofit organization receipt of grants based on total number of applications filed.
